Gates Cambridge Scholarship 2026-27: Full Funding for Masters and PhD at Cambridge University

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is one of the world's most prestigious international scholarship programmes, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It offers outstanding applicants from outside the United Kingdom full funding to pursue a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge.

What It Covers

The scholarship covers: the full University Composition Fee; a maintenance allowance of £21,227 per year; economy return airfare; and a contribution toward visa costs. Additional funding is available for scholars with dependants.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom applying for a PhD, MSc, MLitt, or one-year postgraduate course at Cambridge. All academic subjects are eligible.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through the University of Cambridge's Applicant Portal simultaneously with the application for admission. For courses starting in October 2027, applications open in September 2026.
