The United Kingdom has officially signed the legal agreement to rejoin the Erasmus+ programme, the European Union's flagship education, training, youth and sport initiative, ending a five-year exclusion following Brexit.
What This Means for British Students
UK universities and colleges are now eligible to participate in Erasmus+ Key Action 1, covering student and staff mobility between the UK and EU member states. UK young people are also eligible to participate in the European Solidarity Corps volunteering programme for those aged 18-30.
Timelines
British students seeking Erasmus+ placements for 2026-27 should contact their university's International office immediately. Grants cover travel costs, accommodation support, and a monthly living allowance.
