UNICEF Youth Volunteer Programme 2026: Paid 12-Month UN Placements for Displaced Youth

UNICEF and UN Volunteers have launched applications for the Youth on the Move 2026 cohort, an initiative offering paid 12-month placements within UNICEF operations worldwide to young people from displacement backgrounds.

Who Is Eligible

Applicants must be aged 20-32, have displaced or refugee status, hold at least a Bachelor's degree, be proficient in English and at least one other UN language, and be available for a full 12-month placement beginning September-November 2026.

What the Placement Involves

Selected youth volunteers are placed in UNICEF country offices in roles covering child protection, education, nutrition, health, and social policy. Volunteers receive a monthly living allowance, health insurance, and travel support.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through the UNV Online Volunteering portal. The deadline for the 2026 cohort is 31 August 2026.
