About YNC

Who we are, what we stand for, and why we exist.

Who We Are

Youth News Corporation (YNC) is an independent digital newsroom dedicated to global journalism on issues that directly affect young people — education policy, youth rights, labour conditions, scholarships, international opportunities, mental health, and the decisions made by governments and institutions in the name of the next generation.

YNC was founded on the conviction that young people deserve journalism that takes their lives seriously — not lifestyle content or empty inspiration, but real, sourced, accountable reporting on the systems that shape their futures.

Our mission: To produce independent, fact-based journalism that informs, empowers, and holds power to account on issues affecting youth globally.

What We Cover

Our editorial desks cover six core areas:

Our Standards

Every article published by YNC must meet a clear editorial standard: claims are sourced, sources are cited, and opinion is clearly labelled as such. We do not publish rumour, speculation presented as fact, or content designed to mislead. Where we make errors, we correct them publicly and promptly.

Our full editorial standards are available at Editorial Standards.

Who Runs YNC

YNC was founded by Rafay Ahmed and operates with a volunteer editorial team of contributors, reporters, and editors spread across multiple countries. We are not funded by governments, political parties, or commercial advertisers. Our independence is structural, not just aspirational.
