Our Commitment

YNC is committed to making yncnetwork.com accessible to all users, including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a minimum standard.

Current Accessibility Features

• Semantic HTML5 structure with correct heading hierarchy throughout
• ARIA landmark roles on all pages (main, nav, header, footer, complementary)
• All images have descriptive alt text; decorative images have empty alt attributes
• Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA minimum requirements (4.5:1 for body text)
• All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable with visible focus indicators
• Form fields have associated labels using the for/id pattern throughout
• Live news ticker is marked aria-hidden to avoid screen reader repetition
• Time elements use machine-readable datetime attributes throughout
• The site does not use auto-playing audio or video content

Known Limitations

The admin dashboard has not yet been fully audited for screen reader compatibility. Some older article pages may have insufficient heading hierarchy — we are auditing and updating these.
