2.1 Data You Provide Voluntarily

• Newsletter subscriptions: email address only.
• Portal submissions: content of your submission and any contact details you voluntarily provide. We do not log IP addresses for portal submissions.
• Staff accounts: name, email address, username, and role designation.

2.2 Automatically Collected Data

• Server logs: IP addresses, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, time of visit. Retained 30 days then deleted.
• Cookies: minimal functional cookies only. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To deliver our newsletter to subscribers
• To process and respond to portal tip submissions
• To maintain and secure our newsroom platform
• To analyse aggregate traffic patterns (no individual profiling)

4. Data Sharing

YNC does not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share source or submission data with any third party without explicit written consent from the source.

5. Data Retention

Newsletter data retained until unsubscription. Server logs retained 30 days. Staff account data retained for duration of employment and two years thereafter.

We implement HTTPS encryption (TLS 1.3), restricted database access, and regular security audits. Portal submissions route through an external encrypted endpoint and are not stored on our public server.
